Adobe System Software Adobe Cumulative Licensing Program (CLP)

In 1994, Adobe acquired Aldus and later that year, Adobe PageMaker and Adobe Effects were added to its product range. In addition to the PostScript language system, a software technology known as Type-1 was introduced, which provided printing technology for digital fonts that could be printed in any resolution. Adobe also controlled the TIFF file format and was responsible for developing an updated version of the PDF file system for use in print and digital media. In 1995, Adobe signed an agreement with UH System to establish a joint venture to develop digital printing technology, the Adobe Type System (Type 1). Sources: 0, 2

However, font rendering in Illustrator was left to the Macintosh QuickDraw library and replaced by PostScript - as in 1995, when Adobe released the Adobe Type Manager for the Mac OS X and Windows operating systems. Sources: 0

Once again, Adobe was able to develop its software further and conquer a new market with Macromedia as its technology. It's mass-produced - in the 1990s it was marketed with Photoshop, the rest is history - it added new features to the software as soon as Thomas coded them. Now it was ready to integrate new technologies like Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator for Mac and Windows into its software. Due to the success of Photoshop on Macintosh and Mac OS X, Macromeedia developed an innovative software like Flash in 1999. Sources: 9

Adobe developed the Adobe Illustrator for Macintosh computers in 1986, which helped popularize PostScript. Later, in 1989, a version of Illustrator made it to Windows, and in 1990 Adobe announced the development of Adobe Illustrators for the NeXT system, which provided its users with the same powerful design and illustration tools that were used by owners of MacIntosh and IBM PCs. In 1996, Adobe and Microsoft announced the OpenType font format, and in 2003, Adobe completed the conversion of its Type 1 font library to Open Type. Adobe introduced Acrobat PDF in 1993, which is now one of the most widely used viewers and readers for PDF files. In 1996, Adobe announced the font openType together with Microsoft. In 1996, Adobe also developed the free Acrobrobat Reader, which enables Internet users to view, print and print portable document formats (PDF). The application in the Adobe Creative Suite is mainly used to view, create and modify PDF files, but is also available for other formats such as HTML, CSS, HTML5 and JavaScript. Sources: 0, 2, 9, 12

Adobe cemented its position in the desktop publishing market in 1994 when it acquired the leading PageMaker desktop publishing software. As Adobe sought to expand into digital media more quickly, it also took over Macromedia as one of its biggest competitors. In December 2005, Adobe acquired its former competitor MacROMedia, which expanded its product range with a number of new products such as Flash, DreamWeaver and Freehand. A roundup of the product lines shows that Macronedia brought both Flash and Dream weaver (Free Hand) to the combined company, while Adobe added newer products that focused on the workflows of companies such as Photoshop, Acrobat and Adobe Media Player. Adobe has massively improved Flash in recent years, making the company profitable in software, even though the software is well known and used.
